Welcome to A Sense of Scouse

The world seems a little…odd…right now. Things are changing, fast. But one thing we know will never change, is our collective love of Liverpool.

Ours is the most colourful of cities: people, music, history, humour. Liverpool doesn’t follow the pack, shout the loudest, or try to be cool; for decades it has battled hardship, challenged stereotypes, forged its own path. And answered to no one.

So…let’s talk about it!

A Sense of Scouse is the new online newsletter for our city. We will collect all of our stories, memories and proud moments into one place for everyone to enjoy. Together, we’ll create an ongoing, living archive of what Liverpool means to us. Nothing divisive, no politics, no religion, and no football (plenty of other people are covering that!); just pride and celebration.

There’s a feeling. Something unspoken, but we all know it; we all feel it. It’s to know Liverpool inside out; to be in awe of its resilience, recognise its flaws, and love it despite everything.

That feeling? A Sense of Scouse.

Be part of it

You, the people, are Liverpool’s most valuable resource, and I can’t do this without you. You’re the ones with the stories, the memories, and the knowledge.

I want to know about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. I want feel-good stories and emotional journeys. What’s happening behind the scenes? What’s going on that we need to know about? Get nostalgic, reminisce, wax lyrical - whatever you like, just share it!
